NUBIX 4BC, NUBIX 4ST, NUBIX 4LT, MAX PRO4
BEEPS LOUDLY WHEN POWERING ON FOR THE FIRST TIME!

YES, IT DOES!  THIS IS NORMAL!

You can put a piece of tape over the round device that makes the noise.  If you remove the device to prevent beeping for a covert job, then be advised that you will void the warranty when you remove the screws to remove the PC board.  There is a warranty tape across one of the screws.

MOTION BUZZER
To silence the buzzer go in to MENU, then go to ADVANCED, then go to ALERT.
Scroll to MOTION BUZZER, and use the +, and - buttons.  The motion beeps will be silent when this is OFF.

VLOSS BUZZER is a video loss alert which beeps if a wire is cut, or you have a problem with your camera, or a connection problems in the wiring. Leave this on except for covert situations.

INT BUZZER
Turning this off will silence all of the beeps.

EXT ALERT
There is a relay that clicks on that will allow you to trigger strobe lights, or flood lights.  This connection is at the connector on the back of the DVR.
Turning this off disables the relay.

COVERT USE
For covert uses we recommend that you remove the buzzer from the PC board which will void the warranty, and turn off the EXT ALERT so that the relay does not make clicking sounds.  Put the hard drive in to overwrite mode, and you will turn off the HDD BUZZER.

HOW TO STOP THE BEEPING WHEN CAMERAS DETECT MOTION

Press menu
select ADVANCE
select ALERT
go about 4 lines down select MOTION
PUSH ENTER
Change it to NO
Press Menu to get out of the menu pages.

Now you will not hear any beeps when your "cameras" detect motion.

HOW TO SET UP MOTION DETECTION WITH THE FOLLOWING DVRs

                    NUBIX 4BC, NUBIX 4LT, NUBIX 4ST, MAX PRO4

If your motion detection screen is pink then it is not recording. Pink is used for motion masking such as trees, bushes, ect.

If your screen is clear, and you can see your camera video then that is the correct setting.

select ADVANCE
select DETECTION Move the cursor to the second column marked DET, make sure it says ON for all of the cameras that you have hooked up.

Now move the cursor to the third column marked AREA. On cam one press enter. If the page is pink then this is not seeing "motion", if it is clear than it is looking for motion to trigger recording.

Here is the hard part to describe. Find where the cursor is blinking (probably around the center of the screen somewhere) using the left arrow move it to the far left of your screen, using the up arrow go all the way to the top of the screen. Press enter (this marks a starting point), move the cursor down to the bottom of the screen, (do not touch any buttons except arrow/directional buttons), when you get to the bottom of the screen use the right arrow, and move the cursor to the right.

Here is what you should be seeing. When you pressed enter at the top of the screen the square went from pink to clear, as you pressed the arrow down the whole column became clear. As you used the right arrow the screen slowly became clear as you worked your way to the right.

When you get to the right side of the screen you can move your hand in front of a camera and you will see all of the squares "activating" as it follows your movements. Press ENTER to stop the selection process. You are now good to go for motion detection.

Press MENU to back out of camera one area, and press the down arrow to get to camera two area. Press ENTER, and repeat steps for each camera.

Here is a trick. If you have some outdoor cameras, and you have some bushes, trees, ect, then you can set up motion masking. Now the bushes, and trees will not trigger your cameras.

Move the cursor to where you want to start a motion area. Start at the top of this area, press enter, go down as many squares as you need then work your way to the left or right to make a "motion" box. Press enter to stop the selection process. You can now freely move the cursor. Go to your next area that you want motion detection, and make your box, rectangle, or just go wild to get all of the nooks, and cranny around moving objects.

(THIS IS THE ONLY PICTURE I COULD FIND OF THE DET AREA.  THIS PICTURE IS FROM THE REMOTE AP SOFTWARE).

Press menu to get out of AREA, press menu to get out of Detection.

Go to RECORD
go to event record
press enter. It should say YES
Press menu to get out of the menu pages.

FROM THE CCTV OUTLET OFFICIAL WEBSITE FAQ SECTION!

Why does my DVR show "Disc Full" but the DVD-R disc still have space??

Ans:
Because of the hardware design, one DVD-R disc could only backup up to 41 files. If you want to backup over 41 files to the disc, you would meet this issue.

Note: Our DVD-RW drive only supports "DVD-R" discs.

Why does my DVR show HDD full with the usage of only 100GB, but the HDD total capacity is 250GB?

Ans:
It happened when you set up motion trigger recording on the Wavelet series DVRs. The motion list can only include up to 6,144 record items. The least time to be recorded is 10 seconds for each triggering. So, if you have motion triggered all the time, it will treat as HDD full when the motion list is full.

Why does the OSD on Model AVC787 show HDD remaining space, but not the available remaining time?

Ans:
Because the format of MPEG (not pictures) is different from the format of JPEG (pictures), the available remaining time cannot be calculated. The situation is just like downloading files from the Internet. When you download one file from the Internet, the displayed downloading time keeps changing. For this reason, the remaining time varies dramatically, and users might have the difficulties to precisely know the actual remaining time. Therefore, our R&D team decides to use HDD remaining space instead of the available remaining time.

Why do NUBIX 8LT / 16LT Series DVRs sometimes keep rebooting?

Ans:
If the physical connection between HDD power cord and HDD is loose, HDD booting will be failed. And in order to let HDD booting successful, the DVR will keep rebooting. If this problem persists always, it's recommended to change another HDD or re-install your HDD.

How to check the firmware version in COMET 16?

Ans:
Press and hold "Menu" first when your DVR is shutdown. Then, press "Power" to boot your DVR. You can see the firmware version displayed while the DVR is initializing. In addition, there are two MICROM IC in AVC777's PCB board: One is "Master" and the other one is "Slave". When updating your firmware by replacing MICROM IC, please pay attention to the position of "Master" and "Slave". If you face to the DVR front panel, the IC slot at the left hand side is Master and the one at the right hand side is Slave.

Why is HDD detection failed?

Ans:
Please check the power adapter as well as the HDD cable and HDD power cord between the HDD cartridge & motherboard. Or, you can change to another HDD for testing.

Why can't my USB flash drive be detected?

Ans:
Your flash drive may not be supported in our DVR. For detailed information, please check the compatible list in your DVR user's manual and see if the brand name of your flash drive is included. Our DVRs only recognize FAT32 format. So, please format your USB flash drive as FAT32.

Is it possible to access video data on DVR hard disk from your PC?

Ans:
No. The hard disk of our DVR system can't be accessed from your PC. That's because the system format is designed only for our DVR.

How do I make an audio backup?

Ans:
The audio connection channel is showing below:
