Setting up the Remote Viewer will seam extremely difficult. If you have experience with computers then you will be able to figure things out for yourself. If this is the first time you have ever set up a remote software then pack a lunch, sit down, and read the manual a couple of times, and you should be ok!
Before you get started now would be a good time to do some maitenance on your computer. Have a computer technition do a Disk Defragmentor. Do not attempt to do this on your own as your protection software may rearrange your files, and a Disk Defragmentor may "lock up" your computer as it cannot find its files, and you will need someone to restore everything for you.
You will want to go to system restore, and you will want to setup a new system restore point in case something happens. Using various programs would be good to clean out adware, spyware, malware, and trojans. Cleaning out cookines, and temp files would be good as well. Have someone help you. Just find any 12 year old kid. They will have all of this done in no time at all!
If you are computer savy then click on
Start This is at the bottom left of your XP computer, or click on the Vista Icon on the bottom left. Click My Computer. Click on local Disk (C:). Click on Program Files. Here is where your software is going to be stored. Right Click your mouse away from any folders. You will see a box open up. Look for NEW. When you put your cursor over new you will see another box open up, and you will see FOLDER. Give it a left click, and a folder will be created. Give this a nickname such as Vid Server, or a nickname of what ever software you are going to download.
Where you download your server software on the internet will dictate how you will put it on to your computer. You can receive your server software as a direct download, and you will be able to save the program, and start it fairly quickly.
If you have received your software as a zip "package" then use this to unzip your software:
http://www.winzip.com/downwz.htm
This is a trial version of the software. This is free, but it does not have all of the bells, and whistles available to you, but feel free to pay for the software to have the complete package.
You will load this on to your computer, and then you will "activate" it so that you can unzip your software. When the WinZip software screen comes up just click on the evaulation option
If you have received it as rar "package" then use this to decompress your software:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Select your country for language, and download the software. This is free but it does not have al of the bells, and whistles available to you. When the software window opens up it will ask you to "Please Purchase WinRAR License. You can buy online, or you can click the red X at the top right to use the evaluation version for free. Click on Extract To Icon. You will go through the same process again. My Comuter / Local Disk (C:) / Program Files / Your file. Click on OK. This will install the software in to your file.
During the download process you will see a box open up. It will ask you do you want to open, or save this software? You will want to click on SAVE. It will ask you where you want to store this software. What you see may not be where you want it. Click on the arrow that points to the left, and up, (or a folder with an arrow pointing up) until you see MY COMPUTER. Double Click MY COMPUTER. Now a new list will appear. You will want Local Drive (C:) Double Click on Local Drive (C:), and a new list will appear. Double Click on PROGRAM FILES. Now find the file that you made earlier VID Server, and Double Click on that folder. Now you can click the button on the bottom that says SAVE.
Once you have unpackaged your software, and you are ready to open it. If you are having trouble opening the file then go to the START Button, Click on My Computer, Local Disk (C:), Program File, and click on the folder that you made. You will see an icon that you need to click on that will install the software on to your computer. You may have to use the UnZip, or the RAR software to unpackage it.
You will see a new icon, or a new folder. Click on the new folder that the software created. You should see an icon that says Set Up, or it may say install exe, ect. Click the install icon. Everything else should load automatically. Just follow the prompts.
If everything went well you should have an Icon on your desk top. If not click Start (or Vista Icon) All Programs, and then look at the very last item in that list. It should be the software that you just installed. Hover your cursor over the software name, and it will give you options, or you can just click on the software name to start up the program.
Click the icon on your desktop and you should good to go!

VIDEO SERVER FOR AVC 760A
VIDEO SERVER FOR NUBIX 4ST
VIDEO SERVER .0.0.8.5
If you are familiar with AVTech Video Server E, and you have never worked with higher end DVRs then this new Server Software will be very confusing at first!
I am always working with entry level products, and most menus are fairly simple. High end DVRs are much harder for the average person to setup straight out of the box without some OJT (On the Job Training). If you work with computers then it will appear much easier for you, and you will be able to figure out most things on your own. Read the manual several times before you work with the DVR and you should have no trouble with the setup.
The very first time I installed the new Video Server Software for the AVC 760 A / Nubix 4 ST I was totally lost as I was expecting the old menu, and set up.
Having worked with a few higher end DVRs here, and there saved me as I was able to figure it out after reading the manual again.
A square screen appeared after starting up the software desktop icon, and there is another box to the right of this box.
OK! Now what do I do?? Where is the IP address bar, and the user, and password dialog box??
Here is what you do. Look at the right box. If you are on a local lan with your DVR then click on the Magnifying Glass Icon. This will search you local lan for your DVR. If you get any "threat" alerts from protection software then allow it, or click unblock. Then click on the arrow chasing another arrow. This is the refresh button. A searching dialog box will appear. If you do not have a DVR on the lan then nothing happens. If you have a DVR on the lan it will show you the DVR IP address, and the port number.
You can insert your own IP address. On the right box click on the "book", and then click on the Icon on the bottom that looks like a piece of paper with a green plus sign on it. When you click the Icon with the green plus sign another dialog box will open.
Type in the IP Address, the port number, user name, password, and on the comment line give your DVR a name. You can give it the name of your business, or Daves DVR or what ever you care to put there. Then Click APPLY. You should now have video.
If you have a very slow, or an older computer then give it some time to cycle through before the video appears. The slower the computer, the longer it will take.
If you typed in the wrong IP address then look for the icon that looks like a calculator with a red X on it. This will delete your entry, and you can make another entry. If you own more than one business, then enter the IP address of all of your DVRs, and use your address for each DVR in the comment line so you know which one is which.
I hope this helps, and we wish you the best of luck!!
